Digital Imaging for Artists

In this popular one-hour seminar, professional photographer Eric Law provides an overview of digital imaging, some key concepts, and how it can improve the quality of entries to exhibitions and art fairs. Participants learn about the advantages and flexibility it offers in presenting artwork. They will also get tips on photographing their own art, working with a professional photographer, and submitting digital images for jurying. In addition, participants receive a 28-page booklet containing material from the seminar.

Shooting Your Artwork

This one-day workshop teaches participants how to photograph their artwork using a digital camera and to prepare the images for juried shows. The morning session covers the basic concepts and terminology, camera features, and how to light and photograph a variety of artwork, including sculpture, fabric, and jewelry. In the afternoon session, participants learn how to process their digital images and properly format them for show entries and a variety of other uses. In addition, participants receive a 44-page booklet with material from the workshop.

Participants should have access to a digital camera and some basic computer knowledge. The workshop is limited to a maximum of 15 participants.

About the Presenter
Eric Law is a professional photographer, consultant, and the founder of ShootMyArt.com™. He specializes in the digital imaging of artwork for artists, galleries, and exhibitions. His clients include many well-known and emerging artists from the Detroit area and across Michigan. Eric is a member of Professional Photographers of America and Commercial Photographers International. He works from his studio in Berkley, Michigan.
